Creative Healing Connections offers arts retreats for people who are in need of opportunities to heal. We provide guided, creative activities that encourage self expression, new awareness and reconnection with our healthy selves. We have been developing our unique blend of therapeutic arts and self-expression activities for over thirteen years. Since 1998 we have offered more than 30 retreats benefiting the minds, bodies and spirits of approximately 500 women, 80 men and 60 children.
Musician Peggy Lynn Honored for her Work with Creative Healing Connections
Our co-founder Peggy Lynn was honored by Empire State College as the 2013 co-recipient of the Altes Prize. Nikki Shrimpton, dean of the Central New York Center, said, “we are thrilled that Peggy’s outstanding community service is being recognized and celebrated.”
Peggy Lynn leads songwriting workshops at CHC retreats that allow participants to tell their stories by joining their voices in song. She is a graduate of Empire State College and a faculty mentor and assistant professor at the college’s Central New York Center. “My Empire State College education informed my songwriting, the Creative Healing Connections programs about women, and helped to make me a more intelligent, active citizen of the United States and the world,” said Lynn. Peggy is generously donating $1000 of the $2500 prize to Creative Healing Connections and using the balance toward recording songs written for and at retreats.
